Piloerection

Piloerection refers to the phenomenon commonly known as “goosebumps” or “piloerection reflex.” It is the involuntary erection or raising of hair, fur, or feathers on the skin in response to various stimuli. This reaction occurs in many mammals, including humans, and is associated with certain emotional or physiological states. Observing piloerection in animals can provide insights into their current physiological or emotional states. In humans, while the reflex may not have the same functional significance as in animals, it remains an interesting and observable physiological response to certain stimuli.
